From the spawn, kill the demons around her, then run accross to the other side where the gate is (directly accross from your spawn location), try to kill her as close to that gate as possible. When she respawns, carefully pull the first few groups that pass by to your location and dispatch them. When you have made a gap in their patrol, pull Varesh a little towards your side of the map so when you attack her you don't aggro the respawning patrols. Go at her with everything you can, and make sure to take Defile/Desecrate Enchantments. Good Luck

Bring Koss, Morgahn and if you have GW:EN then Hayda as well, take Sogolon, Odurra, Mhenlo and Kihm as henches. Give all your heroes enough points in tactics and "Watch Yourself!" and "Shields Up!". Go in, kill margonite monks, kill Varesh. Ignore demons, kill Varesh again. Mission completed in Hard Mode with H+H, total time 3 minutes.

This works - but if you are able to do this then you are mostly likely not going to be asking what you are. Give it a go in normal mode and if it works then be happy and move on.
However, this is one of the first times you are really introduced to the torment creatures and you will face MANY of them in times to come and with much harsher penalties. Make sure your light bringer title is displayed and you have light bringer's gaze equipped - even at rank one they are both effective. Not that they spawn - the skill "call to the torment" will replicate the enemy in question and they use it when at about half health. If you use massive AoE make sure you can kill them before they get it off (that is - *always* call targets and be careful), if not then make sure everyone is focused on taking down a single target. Slower large area AoE damage is a quick way to die against torment critters.
Now, first off ignore Varesh and kill the margonites. After killing them kill her off, once she is dead *immediately* run (using flags for the hench/hero as they generally do not respond fast enough) to the opposite side from where you enter. Once up on that perch keep the H/H flagged up high and use your longbow (you do use one to pull groups right? Again this will be VERY important where you go when you finish this mission) to pull one group at a time. Do *not* engage Varesh until you clear out all of her minions, they will all eventually wind there way around to where you can kill them if if you are patient.
you will most likely not get masters this way, in fact anything other than standard and you are probably more than ready to clear it using the strategy that tmakinen posted - but then you probably are not asking how to clear it in this forum either.
If you really can not pass it ask here for a party, I'm almost exclusively a H/H player and do not work well with other humans but I will give it the ol' college try. Just do not hire a runner as the next areas will be much more frustrating if you do not learn what you need to here.

Good advice thusfar.
There is the strat of pulling just Varesh to the start and beating her down without interference of the supporting cast. Granted this can be tricky, but she seems to have a much larger than normal aggro radius.
This would require a monk for pre-prot/heal and hex removal, General Morgahn is some capacity and a necro. Beyond that is pretty much your call.
Cast and maintain Enfeeble/Enfeebling Touch/Enfeebling Blood on her to give her weakness.
Reckless Haste and Price of Failure help.
Liberal applications of Spoil Victor or Spiteful Spirit can reduce her to a pulp quickly.
Soothing Images (even at 0 Illusion) counters Earth Vortex quite well.
Interrupts work on Frost Vortex and Call of Sacrifice.
Inspired Hex/Revealed Hex (at 2 Inspiration pays for itself) works wonders against Prophet Varesh's Enchantment Collapse and Call of Sacrifice.
Aegis and Defensive Anthem can also help with Varesh's normal attacks and "Shields Up!" will definitely assist against her Paragon mode.
hex.
Good luck.
Cheers,
TB

I H+H it: 2 Monks, 2 Warriors, 3 Eles + Morgahn
Flag them right to the gate where you start, pull Varesh and kill her. When she respawns wait for all the demons to load and wander towards you. Kill them, until there are none left, then pull and kill Varesh.

And thus, I said "not likely" not "impossible".
I've gotten masters that way, I've also missed it by a few seconds, and the very fist time I went through it I didn't come close. It is, by far, the longest way to do the mission outside of trying to waste time.
My guess is from the question being asked the likely hood of him/her ripping through all the enemies quickly is fairly low. More than likely a similar experience most of us H/H players had the first time as you probably have a horrid Morghan (no paragon unlocks and you haven't had him long enough to kit out), low LB title, and unless you unlocked skills through Balth Faction (or are using a prophecies/factions character) then you probably do not have access to the best skills in the game yet - they come in the next "town" (or whatever you want to call that part of the RoT). It's a tough mission under those circumstances, even just a good Morghan makes a HUGE difference - a high LB title makes it trivial but you most likely aren't going to have either of those the very first time through the game and the hench aren't going to make up for it

I just beat it with H/H, IMO Master of wispers is a must, put spoil victor on his skill bar, helps alot, what i did was pull her in her first form to us and wrecked her( I run a dragonslasher build, so does my koss), easy enough. for her second form, she is smarter, she will start coming to you, cast hexes and run back, soo, wait till she comes and casts her hexes, and leroy jenkins her and pray you kill her before the party is overwhelmed by the rest of monsters, which i did.

Actually, the demons do run out, eventually. But you're not going to get Masters doing it like that. It is a reliable way to complete the mission and move on, however.

It saves effort to completely demolish the demon groups as quickly as possible and then drop everything on Varesh without having to worry about anything. Still doesn't take long (demons aren't very strong).

you're a monk lol. You can do it HM below 5 minutes. You just need 2 necro heroes, one with SV one with SS. You go 105 and hug a left wall till she pulls herself to you and die lol. I made alot of money doin the mission for ppl.
